#5k May 2024 – Day 5 & 6

Usually I don’t exercise on Sundays, but with this challenge I have to. One thing I like about #5k May is that it helps to rely on God for strength. It forces me to look to Him in order to get it done.

90% of the time my workouts come from feel. I have a goal for the week and as I start out each day I judge how my body feels to see what workout I want to do. So this challenge didn’t give me that leeway, I have to do it whether I feel like it or not.

However, the freedom to walk, break it up into two walk/runs helps tremendously.

Yesterday we visited the lake and I decided to stroll around the park till my 5k was done. Today I just walked out and back. My right leg is getting better as I work on the tension in my hamstring and inner thigh. My foot barely hurts but now it’s in my knee.

Taking it literally one day at a time. As I think I’m also fighting a cold. But still, it allows me to lean on God for strength.
