How Schedules Prove Your Priorities

Plus, 7 Ways to Analyze Your Schedule

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Ephesians 5:16

I was once asked how running was going.  My response was that I haven’t had the time to run much. What the person said next completely changed my thinking for ever… “You make time for what you want to do.”

You make time for what you want to do.  Stop making excuses.

I couldn’t believe it. Years later this still comes to mind whenever I’m tempted to use the excuse that I don’t have time.  There is always something I could have done differently that would have made time if it was really that important to me.

Since that time, I went on to run many difficult races and challenges because I quit making excuses.  I rearranged my schedule and made the time to run.

During recovery, I have found it a good time for reflection and prayer to analyze how my life is going and what I could be doing differently.  I have come to relish these seasons and take advantage of them. In this week’s podcast episode I’ll be sharing some of the ways I like to analyze my life and how I have been doing that in the circumstances recently.

How I Analyze My Life during Recovery

  1. Prayer
  2. Read the Bible
  3. Write down my Desires
  4. Ditch my Schedule and Lists
  5. Exercise Intuitively
  6. Rest
  7. Redeem the Time
