Part Two of, You are What you Eat

I have noticed over the last few months just how important our mind is. I always knew it was a huge part of our life, but it wasn’t until God took me through some trials of my faith that I realized,
“You are what you eat,” isn’t just a metaphor; it’s a way of life.
What we think about literally has the potential to control our life. We seem to think that our thoughts aren’t sin and that is true. It’s when we dwell on the thoughts and then act on them that they become sin. Just one simple lie is a sin, how much more a thought that controls our heart.
When I go running, or at this point in my life, just think about running, there are a lot of thoughts that go through my mind. I have a choice which ones to dwell on.
I would challenge you to take a sheet of paper and write down every thought you can think of that goes through your mind. Then divide them up into godly thoughts and worldly thoughts. There is no gray area so don’t try and be gracious to yourself. Be totally honest in recognizing that the thoughts you think are either helping you become more like Christ or more like the enemy.
Jesus said in John 6:51, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
We eat the living bread by meditating on the Word of God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
So what are you absorbing everyday and allowing it to control your life?
