Enhancing the Effectiveness of Recovery
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
Psalm 42:1-2
If you have followed me long enough, you know that I am big into the verse that says as a man thinks in his heart, so is he?! I have come to believe this with all my heart. Everything we are and do is directly linked to what we think and believe. You can trace everything back to that. It’s your reason “why?”
This month I wanted to focus on recovery, both physically and spiritually. Anything that takes energy requires recovery. There are multiple ways one can recover from a trial or workout. But one of the best ways is to take care of your soul first.
Here are a few things you can try that have helped me:
- Give thanks in all circumstances
- Pray about everything and share my heart with God
- Focus on my relationship with God
- Ask God to love others through me
- Surrender my life to the Lord
- Ask for prayer
- Have someone I trust that I can talk through the circumstances with
- Prayer Journal or Journal in general
- Keep moving forward
- Rest my mind on Christ
- Meditate on Scripture
- Pray for others
If you have anything else that works for you, please let me know in the comments below!
Have a great week and happy running!
