A Runners Limitations
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Freedom is something the United States is proud of. For the most part we can do whatever we want whenever we want.
Runners however know what true freedom is. When we have a race in mind, we use our freedom to become better runners. But this requires self-control, discipline, and patience. The more we put limitations on ourselves the better of a runner we become.
Freedom in Christ is this same way. We are free to do what we want but the more limitations we put on ourselves the more like Christ we can become. This is not to say you should become legalistic, but rather learn to grasp our true freedom in Christ.
This starts in our thought life.

We seem to limit ourselves in all the wrong ways by dwelling on lies, worry, or fear.
When we realize what true freedom is – dying to ourselves, letting go of our old way of thinking, and living in truth, surrendering our whole lives to Christ, allowing Him to work through us by obeying the Holy Spirits promptings – our lives will change.
A runners limitations make them better runners. Some go on to be elite, while others go on to become professionals… all because they used their freedom to make choices to become better runners.
And like I mentioned a couple weeks ago, our actions are determined by what we think about. First you have a thought, then you have a feeling, then you act on that feeling.
The Key to Freedom is Christ in You. It’s completely yielding your life to the Lord. That is where true freedom is found.
