Gaining Motivation to Control our Thoughts by Looking at the Life of a Thistle Plant

As I was weeding our strawberry bed, I came upon the dreaded area where the thistles had taken over.  I grabbed some gloves and got to work only to become frustrated minutes later with my progress.  Everyone knows that in order to keep a thistle from coming back you must take out the root right? … Continue reading Gaining Motivation to Control our Thoughts by Looking at the Life of a Thistle Plant

Has your Motivation to Run Disappeared?

“For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” Hebrews 12:3 This question is by far, the most common I have heard amongst runners.  "I don’t have any motivation to run, where do I get some?" When the motivation to run has left, what… Continue reading Has your Motivation to Run Disappeared?

What is Surrender?

After so many years of thinking I knew what surrender was, God strongly convicted me that in one certain area, I had not totally and completely surrendered to Him.   After years of God saying, “Trust me. Believe me. Rest in me. Commit to me.” I thought I was. But I kept taking it back. I figured that was… Continue reading What is Surrender?

Attention! Part Two of the the Best Race Ever

Part Two: This Half Marathon was the best race I’ve ever run. For the last three miles, I was covered in sweat. It was windy, temps were below freezing, and I do not do well in the cold. Besides that, I was now badly dehydrated and my body threatened to cramp up, pass-out, and upchuck the fuel I had recently ingested. But it was during these last few miles that God showed me more of Himself in a beautiful way I’ll never forget!
