When Your Dreams Take a Detour

When God gave me a vision for Be Still and Run, I thought it was going to just fall into place and happen overnight, but boy was I wrong.  There have been so many detours to my plans that I eventually just stopped trying so hard to get things to happen in my time and tried to flow with God’s schedule.  Maybe those of you who have been with me for awhile have noticed that.

Mo Half Marathon Recap

I can’t begin to explain the peace that I had going into this race as well as actually running it.  For about two weeks prior God had been laying on my heart Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Even with a… Continue reading Mo Half Marathon Recap

Why am I doing this?

As I ran through the park during a 5k race, the thought finally crossed my mind.  The thought that I had never had but had always heard of.   It came by surprise at the time and I was dead serious.  Why am I doing this?!  I hate running and I’m never running again. It shocked… Continue reading Why am I doing this?

The One Thing that Completely Changed my Life Forever

At an early age, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour.  But during my teen years, I struggled a lot with conflict between my spirit and my flesh.  I knew I should pray and read the bible.  I knew I should meditate on the Word.  I knew I should be kind.  I knew all… Continue reading The One Thing that Completely Changed my Life Forever

Attention! Part Two of the the Best Race Ever

Part Two: This Half Marathon was the best race I’ve ever run. For the last three miles, I was covered in sweat. It was windy, temps were below freezing, and I do not do well in the cold. Besides that, I was now badly dehydrated and my body threatened to cramp up, pass-out, and upchuck the fuel I had recently ingested. But it was during these last few miles that God showed me more of Himself in a beautiful way I’ll never forget!

How God uses the Complexities of our Brains and the Wisdom of His Spirit to Draw us Back to Himself

“As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.”Psalm 17:15 The other morning, while enjoying an easy four miler, I noticed a farm truck approaching a two-way stop at an intersection, the same one I would soon be at.  I am always leery as… Continue reading How God uses the Complexities of our Brains and the Wisdom of His Spirit to Draw us Back to Himself
